Liora is a Fae dragon from the Light flight, who is on a mission to search for the legendary Fae of Light as per the Lightweaver's instructions. She knows nothing of this legendary dragon, other than the statement that she is supposed to lead dragonkind to a "golden age of prosperity."
During her search, Liora was captured by the Beastclans and imprisoned in the Waterway. She was rescued by Reiko, Kitty, and Brenna, who were there for their Passage. They took her back to their lair, where they introduced her to the rest of the clan. When she explained her mission regarding the Fae of Light, she was shocked that the clan hadn't even heard of the legend; not even Amadeus, the fellow Light dragon and researcher for the clan. Nevertheless, the clan realized that there must be something important about her if the Beastclans wanted her alive. With a desire to become stronger, Liora agreed to take the Passage (a journey in which dragons are sent out into the wild to battle beasts and develop their skills and powers), and was placed on a team with the other two newcomer dragons, Cane and Snowy.
They passed their first few stages of the Passage without difficulty, and the clan felt that Liora's team would fare well given the diversity of their elements (Liora's Light, Cane's Ice, and Snowy's Fire). But one day, Cane got the silly idea to follow Lazarus, Handel, and Aether to the Ghostlight Ruins, a venue far ahead of their current level, to see what kind of challenges lay ahead of them later on, and Liora reluctantly followed. Not only was Liora's team easily overpowered, but the beasts prevented their escape, forcing them to seek refuge deeper in the ruins. Upon reaching the deepest chamber, they met Erebus, a sinister Nocturne dragon from the Shadow flight, wielding a terrible power. Liora immediately sensed something off about his power, his darkness that was not based from the Shadow element. To her horror, Erebus revealed that he had been watching her for some time, speaking of her great potential, and how he was looking forward to seeing her reach it. Angered, Cane and Snowy attacked the dark dragon, only to be knocked out from a single blow. Erebus then pinned Liora down with his magic, to establish his dominance over her without hurting her. Fortunately, Lazarus and his team arrived to stop him. After a brief battle, Erebus left, promising to check on the clan from time to time.
Liora was obviously shaken from her encounter as she and the other dragons reported to the rest of the clan. Qubine instructed them to continue their Passage, and they would deal with Erebus when necessary. That time would come much sooner than expected, when Liora found Erebus in the Burial Grounds. She could only watch, paralyzed with fear as Erebus unleashed his magic on the graves and then vanished. Liora went to warn Qubine, who came to investigate the graves. That's when the deceased dragons emerged from their graves to attack the survivors. Even worse, when the sun set, the dead dragons became faster, stronger, and more aggressive. Liora panicked, reuniting with Cane and Snowy, but the last straw was when the larger deceased dragons were spitting out a black sludge that formed even more shadowy beasts. The three dragons fled, without any word to the rest of the clan, not knowing if they survived the attack. When the three landed to rest, Liora was guilt-ridden, believing herself to be the cause of everything; that the lair was lost because she had failed to act when Erebus unleashed his magic in the Burial Grounds.
Liora then decided to visit the Lightweaver for guidance. The deity instructed the team to visit the Sunbeam Ruins to learn of Sornieth's history. Reading the writing and images carved into the walls, Liora learned about the deities' birth, their war, and their conflict with the Shade. Liora recognized the images of the Shade being very similar to the kind of powers that Erebus had used, leading her to question whether Erebus was controlling the Shade, or vice versa. She then decided that the next time she encountered him, she would try to talk him out of his schemes.
Personality: At first glance, Liora appears to be an average Fae dragon from the Light flight. Due to flying solo on her search for the Fae of Light, Liora has not made any friends prior to meeting the Kalma Clan. Add to that the fact that both the Beastclans and Erebus are targeting her, Liora tends to be timid around strangers. However, after being rescued from the Beastclans by the Kalma Clan, Liora has warmed up to them rather quickly, particularly to her Passage partners, Cane and Snowy. Because she's a caster, and a member of the smallest known dragon breed in Sornieth, Liora is physically frail, and ill suited for direct combat. Therefore, she relies very heavily on Cane and Snowy to cover her in battle. In return, she has the ability to heal their wounds.
Liora was completely defiant about there being anything special about her, especially when she realized that she was still unable to harness control over the Light element, even after Cane and Snowy began to utilize their elemental powers. This only made her further question why she was chosen to seek out the Fae of Light. However, in light of more recent events, she found it more difficult to deny that there was something special about her, even if she still doesn't know what it is. She has more or less put her Fae of Light mission on hold in favor of preparing herself to face Erebus, though she is still looking out for clues. She feels a natural instinct to oppose Erebus, despite being absolutely terrified of him due to his immense strength and Shade power. The idea that Erebus knows something about her that she doesn't also frightens her, as well as the thought of what he might do with her if he manages to capture her. (At least, she's assuming that he wants to keep her captive forever; although it is unknown what he truly wants with her, it is apparent enough that he doesn't want to kill her.)
So far, Liora's journey is dredging up more questions than answers. Like what is so special about her? How will she ever become strong enough to face Erebus? By the time she does become strong enough, will it be too late?
In spite of all of her fears, uncertainties, and self-esteem issues, she does have one reason to keep pushing forward. The only thing that frightens her more than Erebus himself is knowing what will happen to the world if she fails to stop him.
Combat and Abilities
Liora is a caster, supporting her allies in battle with a healing spell and a non-elemental offensive spell called Contuse, which reduces an opponent's attack power by 25%. However, since she is still early in her training, she has yet to unlock her full power. She is struggling to control her light-based magic, which further hampers her self-esteem.
Weaknesses
As a Light dragon, Liora is especially vulnerable to Lightning, Arcane, and Nature-based attacks.
